Is the vault fireproof?
Yes.

Who can access my box?
Access can only be given to people that are registered on our system that the account holder has authorised.

Do I need ID?
Yes, anyone who provides custodial services (namely safety deposit boxes) are required to "Know Your Customer" and this includes taking photo identification.

How long does it take to set up?
15 minutes with access to your safe deposit box granted directly afterwards.

What happens if I die?
We recommend that you nominate a Next of Kin, or alternatively mention in your Will that you have a safe deposit box. When a death certificate is produced access can be granted to the correct person/s.

Can any government department access my safe deposit box?
Access will be granted only by way of a Search Warrant issued by an Australian Court.

Do I have to declare what’s in my box?
No.

Do I have to obtain my own insurance?
Guardian Vaults offers complimentary insurance to $10,000 per safe deposit box. Guardian Vaults can organize additional insurance on your behalf if required.

What happens if I lose my keys?
Guardian Vaults does not keep copies of your keys, an appointment must be made with a locksmith and the safe deposit box will be drilled in your presence only.

How many times can I access my box?
24 access visits (per annum) are included. Additional visits are charged at $7.50 per visit.

What can I put in my box?
Anything that is important to you! eg. Important documents, passports, titles, wills, insurance documents, marriage certificates, photos, jewelery, memorabilia, heirlooms, letters, negatives, bullion, money, personal items, back up tapes.

Can I add someone under 18?
Yes, you can register a minor. If you choose to have a child registered they will have the same access rights as the account holder unless otherwise stated.

How many people can I have registered to access my safe deposit box?
You can have as many registered people as you like, however, they would be required to share the keys amongst themselves as only 2 keys are issued with each safe deposit box, an additional fee of $25.00 applies for each person beyond the standard two.

Who owns Guardian Vaults?
A private consortium of investors owns Guardian Vaults. Jenny Tremaine, Joint Managing Director together with her husband Neil Tremaine Joint Managing Director are the major shareholders. Jenny operates the facility on a day-to-day basis.

Can I get access outside of business hours?
Guardian Vaults does offer you the opportunity to access after hours for emergencies only. Fees are applicable depending on time of access.

Can I have dual access with another person?
If you decide that access should only be granted to two people simultaneously then we can programme the computers for only this to occur.
